Safety First will now be offering Supervised Parenting Time and Safe Exchanges of children between parents for unsupervised parenting time at the Washington County Courthouse in Hillsboro.
Supervised Parenting Time services are available immediately. The Safe Exchange services will be available later in the fall. Services are offered to families with domestic violence issues. Similar programs exist at both Clackamas County and Multnomah County Courthouses. This project is supported by a grant from the Office on Violence Against Women.
A court order is not necessary to obtain services, however, without a court order, the parents will have to be in agreement to obtain services. Referrals may be called or faxed in and it is preferred that folks use a Referral Form from Safety First.
Fees will range on a sliding scale from $2 to $60 per visit (max of $30 for Safe Exchanges). Hours of operation at the Washington County location are Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5 to 9 pm. The location for these services will be at the Center for Counseling and Victim Services (150 N 1st Ave., Hillsboro OR 97124), inside the Washington County Courthouse.
